Application Guidelines

Face coverings are not currently required, but are always permitted. We reserve the right to require face coverings at any time if deemed appropriate. We encourage all students, employees, and visitors to follow CDC guidelines and recommendations for hand-washing, sanitizing work stations, and social distancing.

You'll Need to Bring

Yuo must submit your high school diploma, transcript, or GED from your email. This is required, and your application will not be considered without it. You may also submit any additional documents at this time (letters of recommendation, resume, etc.).

What to Expect

You will be directed to the application/testing computer lab area where you will be provided with secure access to your email, so that you can receive the link to the application & testing.

Please make sure to plan for about an hour and a half to apply and take the tests. We are located at 8625 Monticello Ln N, Suite 2, Maple Grove MN 55369. Please enter at the north entrance, under the Training Center awning.

No, you must apply in person.

You can usually contact your school and obtain a copy of your transcripts. This document is required.

Yes. There are three. You will take a basic skills test (grammar, math) a mechanical aptitude assessment and a risk assessment.

You will take the tests when you apply. You will need about an hour to an hour and a half.

No. You can only take the test once during the application period.

No, this is a basic skills test. However, you may want to review basic algebra skills, fractions, percentages etc.

You will receive an email once you have successfully completed the application and tests. This email will not be sent before January 26th.  Email updates will be sent to the email address you provided.

You can only apply for one of the programs, and you will be committed to that program for the duration of your apprenticeship.  St. Cloud apprentices will generally work in the St. Cloud area, but this is not guaranteed. All classes are at the new Training Center in Maple Grove.

The classes are held in the evening starting in September and run through April each year. You typically have class two nights a week, starting at 5:00pm and lasting 3.5 to 4 hours each night.

You need to be 17 years of age or older and have a high school diploma or GED.

You would need to provide us with your diploma or GED by June 30, 2023. According to Minnesota law, no one under the age of 18 can work in construction or on building projects.
